The most sought-after slice of that special fish, silky smooth magnificence straight from the tin, ventresca white tuna belly fillets from Bonito del Norte tuna are something extraordinary.

As Food & Wine says, these fillets "are melt-in-your-mouth tender".

The ventresca is the very particular belly fillet of the premium Bonito del Norte tuna line-caught in the waters of the Bay of Biscay north of Spain, hand-prepared and packed in pure olive oil in Basque Country. You know how good our jars of Bonito tuna loins are? This is something superbly different.

"I've tried many canned tunas from Europe and this is the best that I've tasted. The tenderness of the tuna belly successfully shines. Definitely worth the price." - Mark S., assuaging any concerns you wouldn't be getting your money's worth

What's our latest fish-featured tote bag? The Bonito del Norte Tote Bag, of course. A stylish and practical means of bringing a few jars of the beautiful fish and accompanying foods to your next picnic or the like.

Bonito del Norte tuna are albacore caught during the summer months when the fish travel to the northern Spanish waters in pursuit of Cantabrian anchovies. The name translates to “Beauty of the North”, as only the finest examples are auctioned off to the conservas for canning. The tuna is quickly preserved in olive oil, which adds to the flavor and results in the smooth texture not found in typical tuna fish sold in American supermarkets.

This is incredible

"While the price isn't the cheapest. . . I don't care, this is insanely good, I would do terrible things to have an unlimited supply of this."

"Truly great."

Quality Tuna as expected

"I appreciate the glass jar packing and thick pieces of tuna. There's nothing bad to say. However, it is a little overpriced for what it is, Not much difference I can tell from any other tuna in oil."

The Best!!!

"Oh my! I recently returned from Spain and regretted not purchasing more tuna belly tinned fish. I’ve been looking high and low for the ventresca since returning home and unfortunately they tasted like regular dry tuna. Thank goodness for Donostia Foods, I ordered my first couple of cans and it was everything like my Spain experience, buttery ventresca fillets and definitely worth it. Went ahead and purchased the case and now I can always get my fix without flying to Spain🤣🤣"
